    Will Bing overtake Google?

This question came up in a moment of spontaneity. Last week I was making a video demo for a Hub on 'How to Boost Your Internet Presence with a Free Weebly Web Site.' While doing the video screen capture, I entered a URL in the browser to return to my web site. Instead, it brought up search results in Bing on Emanate Presence. I was surprised to see so much of my internet presence (link to Hubpages profile, a Question I asked, my Weebly web site) showing up in Bing, and pleased with the appearance. So I am wondering what the trend will be. Does anyone know if Microsoft has such ambitions?

Not a chance! Google is the authority when it comes to search engines.  I have tried Bing granted it is good, but I must have my google.

Nah ,,, Google Is the authoritative one till now. Bing though trying hard but their algorithms are not very much sophisticated yet.

Probably not. It may take some time for it to get close to Google, even though  Bing is aggressively marketing itself but Google is simply too big and well organized for Bing to have a chance just yet.

Have you ever received views on a hub with bing as a source? I have received one out compared to 22,000 or so from google. Google has way to much going for it to be overtaken in its main market.

I haven't looked that closely at where my Hub views come from, other than to note that by far the most come from my web site. Long term - how long has Google been on the internet? And Bing? I guess Microsoft might be too timid and poor to compete...

Sorry, I actually have 286 from bing which is ahead of yahoo. I do know some people who use bing but usually as their second choice.

Thank you for the update. Due to issues with my laptop not booting and getting onto a Microsoft forum for help, besides at the same time making video hubs which required Service Pack 2, I upgraded to I.E. 10 & made Bing my default. I like it!

Not so sure, Google has Google+ which gives them a huge advantage (and leverage),  but I must say I was pleasantly surprised with my Bing search when I just checked it out as well. To answer your question, in my opinion, Google will be the leader for a while, but ten years from now, who knows?

PS - Thanks for the Weebly heads up as well, will check out your hub later today

I think Google has way too much presence to be overtaken by Bing, or by any other company for that matter. Google is well organized and offers a ton of services other than just the search engine itself (like Google+, Blogger, Google Chrome, Gmail, etc...). Google is going strong and I doubt Bing can match it anytime soon.

Google search engine's success rely on its algorithm and the search engine god keep changing its algorithm in a regular interval in order to stay top in the competition.  On the other hand Bing have to do lot of hard work.

Google is definitely king when it comes to internet searching. When people need information they no longer say " let's do an internet search." Instead, what do they say? "Google it!" That clearly shows the authority google has when it comes to the net. I am sure Bing has the ambition but it will be a long time before they can come close to google and I think google will have to make a MAJOR blunder of some kind in order for Bing to catch up.

Not in my lifetime.  ll person are concern with how Google rate their site.  Most Seo company are focus on how Google find their site.

I very much doubt it, because Google has become almost an entity on its own. I also hear a lot of people complain that Bing's search results aren't as relevant to their searches as Google's.

Since the day Google rose to the top, Microsoft has been trying to compete with them but every attempt has been to no avail. Who knows, maybe they will eventually succeed with Bing, but it will take money and time. I wouldn't bet on it though, given Microsoft's track record in regard to search engines.

I did try the Bing search on my internet name, and was pleased to see my Hub profile appear on the first page (#9) as opposed to no presence on Google at all. So, maybe Bing is best put to use for smaller target searches, such as blogs, social networks, etc.
