Would the world be happier if electronics were wiped off the earth?
watching the movie "the day the earth stood still" it made me think yes maybe it would do the world good to ditch the electronic age internet and all.
Personally for me is yes and no. Yes, because looking at what the electronics have done to people, people are not communicating in person. People communicate by emails, texts, chats over the phone or over the internet, on Skype, on Viber, on Google instead of talking face to face. It is getting scary when the time comes when people shut themselves indoors and not come out anymore because they can do everything on the internet like shopping, buying properties online, going to school online, working online, paying for holidays online, watching movies online, and writing online instead of writing on papers. Everything changed due to electronics.
No, because of convenience. If electronics were wiped off the earth, the countries will collapse because nearly every moving vehicles or items are controlled by electronics like the electricity power, the radios, the T.V's, the computers, mobile phones. But I am sure we will survive but very slow progress.
yes i agree,i think that thought is scary too, reminds me of the movie wally
electronics that encourage face to face socialising could mean a happier place but not really sure they work out as proposed and definitely don't do as well as electronics that do the opposite.
In my own opinion lets go back to cups and string!
lol well i dont know about cups and string but cordless phone and face tp face would be.nice
No I apologize yet to simply answer your question directly, absolutely not at least in the short term. We have already become to dependent on the machines. However if we could survive the absolutely horrifying Great Withdrawl of 2016 we would indeed be better off in the long-run with a few exceptions that is...
Yes true some electronics medical use are crucial to people, i didnt think of that way.
Personally, I don't think we should do away with them. Electronics allow us to have a device (cell phone) that can quickly call the police or an ambulance from almost anywhere, allowing a measure of safety not available in the past. They allow us to send messages (through texts or emails) instantly to friends and family far away. They let us travel (cars, planes, etc) to distant places in short times. And they even save lives (hospital machines, for example). Some may argue that electronics inhibit our personal interactions, but it seems to me that that only happens if we let it. In other words, its more than possible to have technology *and* develop social skills. I vote let's keep them!
that is a good point, and I agree there are plus sides

Where do you shop online for electronic goodies?I usually go to Freys electronics locally, but their online site isn't very good. What sites do you use for computer and entertainment gadgets?
