Hi, Faceless39. Excellent question. Google searches have a few limitations.
First, many articles are not written for the general reader. For example, many technical articles that show up on the first SERP, are written by and for experts.
Second, many of the articles on the first SERP are politically motivated BS. And yes, that includes some 'peer reviewed' articles in scholarly journals. But that fact is not obvious to the casual Google surfer, who mainly checks for 'magic' initials after a given writer's name.
Shock news! Some PhDs have hidden agendas, which are hidden from The Great Unwashed. (That's us.)
On the other hand, some HP writers are very good at separating the wheat from the chaff. I do not have a problem with these types of questions.
