From a previous thread. I really would like help on this.
"Printer manufactures are all thieves. Canon specifically in this case. I am looking for a hack! I am poor. Can not afford $32 for a color cartridge. I only want to print black and white; I have that cartridge. Damn printer wont let me print without a color cartridge. Thieves."
In the properties setting, you should have an option to choose black ink only - where the grayscale option is. Try it and lemme know.
For Canon, I found these directions:
"Press preference on the print menu. Then 'maintenance'. Then click of the cartridges symbol 'Print ink settings' and then on the menu that comes up click on the arrow on the side of it and click to print using black cartridge only. It will remind you every time you print that you are only using black and you have to click OK."
