Any success stories or horror stories? I'm relatively confident that Facebook, Twitter and G+ are good resources for promoting a website, but I'm uncertain about Tumblr's effect, especially in terms of the search engine. Seems some sites could be a detriment in promoting a website. Have you found Tumblr to be effective for this purpose or do you know of anything to the contrary?
Tumblr is a place to have a blog. You could try using that blog to promote another blog, but it seems a somewhat inefficient approach.
Because running a blog is enough work without adding the work of running a blog about that blog -- and doing so actively enough to get the blog about the blog a good page rank and some followers.
There are easier ways to get good inbound links and social engagement.
