Where has Bubblews gone? Is this the end?

    Bubblews is frequently down for short periods but the Bubblews URL now seems to have disappeared.  Normally when the site is down you can see a warning screen saying the site can't be reached.  I've tried both Chrome and IE.  Could this be the end of Bubblews or is it just a temporary glitch?  Anyone know anything?

    Still there, sadly.

    This is the number one article: hxxp://www.bubblews.com/news/1587002-the-everest

    'The world highest mountain is the Everest and it is stay in Asia at Mahalangur section of the Himalayas.'

    On the other hand, Will, I did not choose to read about Everest.

    Instead, last night on Bubblews I:
    - connected with someone from Croatia, who was delighted that I placed a greeting in her language on her profile;
    - wrote what I hope is a motivating piece about the strength I gained from a very difficult time in my life;
    - enjoyed reading and contributed to a rant about banks and their security measures;
    - amused a few people by my comments on their material;
    - caught up with several of my favourite contributors;
    - and earned what at current rates corresponds to about 10 days earnings on Hubpages.

    All that took me about an hour or so, in between doing some work. It proved a welcome break and an opportunity for some socialising, which I would do otherwise on Facebook for nothing.

      You probably offered to marry her son.

      If this was her reply you are in trouble:

      Ja bih bio oduševljen ako će se udati za svog sina i brkove. Možete li uzeti moju baku i magarca?

        Had I had coffee in my mouth at the time, it would have been all over my computer screen.

      Wrong, Will, the reply you cite is reported speech from a male not a female...
      in addition all the pronouns are messed up and suggest, although still ungrammatically, that the person being addressed will marry his/her own son and a moustache.

          I delight in seeing these sorts of events. They are what keeps my job as a translator secure.

          Every day people get into a major mess with Google Translate. Best of all is showing an agency, which has sent me a translation to review, how the cheap scammer they employed has returned a heap of machine-translated junk. I show them sentence by sentence the full extent of the damage.

          Then comes the coup-de-grace: I state the time I have needed to salvage those first sections of the document. At the hourly rate I charge, the sum owed to me generally comes to more than if they had paid me my usual per-word rate to translate the document from scratch.

          Not only is this a valuable client-education activity, I do very well out it financially, which sweetens the anger and stress caused to me by having to deal with such rubbish.

            Fina dama! Chill.

            Tu je dovoljno posla u tjednu!

            Nedjelja je dan za pokositi travnjak.

            Mir s tobom.

      I have managed to open it OK there now. UK time 15.47 Saturday 16 November 2013. Mind you, I HAD to sit through some kind of animation I couldn't get out of first. But I had the sound turned down, so was able to just ignore it!

      I'm back in too.  I thought this morning when the URL disappeared that the Bubblews site had flatlined.  One thing I'm sure of, as soon as you get $25, hit 'Redeem'.  You never know with Bubblews how long it will last!

      Beth - I'm still in awe of you and the 'text massaging' joke (all the range with the kids, put the phones to vibrate then text each other like crazy).  You got the guy to thank you - what next?  At that point they closed the thread before I could comment!

      You do have the option to "skip the video".

        Yes, I think it's right under the video, a link to skip it and go to the home page.

      Mark thinks I am softening on Bulbous but I am not.

      Just a few tests to be sure.

      Bubblers is to Internet as Flea is to Dogkind.

      seems okay...

      Failed writer? Try Bubbling...

      Bitter enough, and with enough truth at its core but not really pithy.

      Hmm. I'll work on it.
