I had an annoying problem develop where I could only see icons in My Pictures folder, instead of thumbnails.
Made it hard to upload pictures when I couldn't see what picture it was.
Just in case anyone else has this problem, here's the solution.
Go to My Pictures -> Tools -> Folder options -> View, and untick 'Always show icons, never thumbnails'. Voila!
Thanks for this, I had this problem a while ago but never found a solution.
