I learned how to properly cut up a rump of beef.

In the past, I'd just slice it into huge steaks.

You Tube taught me that for best results, it needs to be seperated into 4 sections.
You can then slice them for the tenderest steak.

I also learned how to unlock a deadlock in my car that a mechanic told me was unlockable, and would require expensive repairs.

so - tell us what YOU have learned from You Tube.

I'm currently learning to play mandolin and guitar by watching little YouTube clips - I know eventually I will need real lessons, but for now I can blunder along without anyone hearing me! love it!  Also I sometimes look for cooking instructions there and this morning found a very humorous vid about muffins that I included in my muffin hub.  Great source for learning and fun.

I found that video is one of he best vehicles for a lie - so many created scenes that claim to be reality.  Other than that - the skateboarding dog has t o be the best, and people fumigating their ass with fireworks a questionable second.

There are some fairly useful videos for left handed knitters and crocheters.

No matter how obscure the composer, someone has uploaded a YouTube video of his or her music.

How to tie knots to make an Orthodox prayer rope. (See my hub on medieval crafts.)

Sebastian Bach is not the same person as Johann Sebastian Bach.

Remixes are rarely as moving as the originals.

You can pile all sorts of stuff on cats, and they just don't give a darn.

The Roomba is possibly the most expensive cat toy ever invented.

Videos of cute kittens never get old.

I also learned some wonderful things about trebuchets - the ancient siege engines that were used to hurl diseased cows over castle walls.

People now use them to hurl cars, pianos, and all sorts of things for incredible distances.
If I had lots of excess money, I'd love to build one!

I learned to simplify, I already knew to simplify things, something I picked up form Bruce Lee quotes and interviews, but watching other people take big topics and simplify their way of perforiming something, made me understand how to simplify better.  Thanks to YouTube
