Using Twitter for promoting hubs?

I have opened a Twitter account and followed people that are along the themes I am writing about.  Some followed me back.

Do I tweet to my profile, or is it better to tweet directly?  Can I tweet directly to people on a particular topic?  Or is this spamming or irritating?

Where can I get free nice profile pictures?

It all depends, I usually tweet important articles Im writing, and I also do a lot of direct tweeting it all depends on the topic, many times I share hub pages and other articles form other sources.

As far as images you can get tons of images from places like

I would tweet to your profile, then people have the option of checking out your link.

If you have the time a good way to search for those tweeting about your niche is to use using relevant keywords.

As for profile pic's - I use my own smile is useful for automatically updating twitter each time you publish a new post, I have a hub all about it if you need more info.

      Hope this helps.
