I purchased a domain name 2 months ago from Yahoo, but did not host it anywhere as I was still writing content. Yahoo provided a courtesy placeholder page. I just chose Hostgator today, since many people in the forums seem to like it.
I've never done this before, but I uploaded wordpress from cPanel in Hostgator, and the message said to find it click here. When I clicked the link, it took me to the Yahoo placeholder page.
I thought that I would go to another page on Hostgator to learn how to use Wordpress and upload the articles. Can someone get me from Point A to Point B?
you need to go your registrar(yahoo) and change the dns settings to reflect your host(HG) location.
your welcome email has the the appropriate addresses from hostgator.
its a copy paste job takes 10 seconds - but may take up to 48 hours (rarely does) for the change to take effect
