  1. The size of your laptop. Well, if you get the wrong cooler size, then your notebook might not be able to fit into it. For example, you have a 17 inch laptop and you get a cooler pad that fits only laptop that sizes up to 14 inch, it definitely won't fit. There are certain coolers that only have one big fan in the middle, which it covers the whole area, however, there are suggestions that such design might not mean a better cooling system. Two or three or even four smaller fans that is positioned at the right areas will certainly do the job better. Now, you might also want to consider if the fans are quite. Getting noisy fans might give you a headache and can quite be a nuisance, especially when you need to focus on your work. Thanks for the comment ingenira. Yeap, most laptop cooler pads utilize usb ports for source of power. But I prefer to plug the cooler pad into a powered usb hub instead of drawing from the laptop instead. Just don't want the computer to over work. :)

This cooling pad has become more and more common for people turning the laptop on for 24 hours. I got one of them free when I purchased a laptop. The cool thing about it is you can just use the USB port to get the power supply. So, when you switch off the laptop, it is also turned off.
