Top Lipstick Cell Phone Charger Reviews

Charge Your Phone With This Cool Lipstick Gadget

I was out at a club one night when I spotted a woman using what looked like a lipstick charger to power up her cell phone. That was enough for me and I had to go and ask her how good it was.

Now as a guy I don't think I could get away with having one of these. I did however think it would make a great gift for my two daughters. they would make an ideal gift for any lady I believe.

That of course sent me off to look at what was available and see if the lipsticks would actually work as chargers. All too often when the manufacturers try to combine design with actual functionality, it doesn't really work out that well.

The information below is what I found and I hope that you find it useful.

How Do Lipstick Chargers Actually Work?

The idea is a pretty cool one first of all. They do look good and they come in a whole variety of colours which means that the buyer will have plenty of choices. As you can imagine they fit easily into a purse or handbag and that makes them easy and convenient to carry around.

In fact on average they measure about 3.5" long and just under an inch square so tidy and compact. They weigh on average just under 3 ounces so that is all good in terms of easy storage and being light enough to carry around.

How Does It Work?

This is a useful back-up to have just in case your phone runs out of charge when you are out and about. It is in effect a small portable charger that works when your phone or MP3 player is turned off. The lipstick charger comes with a USB cable which you connect to the battery and then attach the other end to your device.

To recharge the lipstick then all you need to do is connect it to your computer or phone charger and get it charged back up again for the next time. The principle is very simple so the technology required to do this is basic. That in turn means that very little can go wrong with them.

These are what are termed basic chargers, and this simple tube shaped device does just that. These are handy because you can keep one in your car, one in your purse or handbag and have one at home. They are also really useful for travelling as they are light and small to carry around with you.

Emergency Cell Phone Charger

Now one thing you absolutely have to look out for is making sure the one you get will actually work with your phone. For some reason cell phone manufacturers, iPhone, Samsung, Nokia etc all insist on using different interfaces for charging and for data use.

The lipstick charger that you buy needs to have the same connection type as your normal cell phone charger.

That is a real pain and it would be great for consumers if they could all agree on a single interface system. Sadly that is probably not going to happen so we therefore need to buy the right devices for our phones.

It is the same with these so please be careful and make sure you match your phone to the charger.

Most of the manufacturers of these charging devices will also include which model of mobile phones that they will work with. That is of course a good thing, but I think you need to dig a little further and make sure that they mention the exact model of your cell.

A charger that works for the iPhone4S will be different to one for the iPhone5 and with the new iPhone 6 coming along, chances are that will have a different charger as well.

Understanding The Basics of Charging

We have all been out and about when you see the battery warning. You had intended to charge your phone up and just either forgot or didn't have enough time. These devices add a boost to your phone which will be able to keep you going until you get time to charge it again.

That is always a handy thing to have and because it is so compact and light, then it is simple enough to carry around.

These type of chargers will add about 8-9 hours of what is termed "talk time." Having one of these chargers either in the office or in your handbag means you need never be without your phone again.

If you have one of the new Smart phones then you will know just how hard it is on batteries and the battery life is therefore low. If you are using Wi-fi or Bluetooth then the battery disappears even quicker. I guess in the ideal world we would always have our phone fully charged.

The reality is however that there will always be a time when we don't. Having something like this one to give your phone a decent boost will certainly get you through the day and night.

Other Charging Options That People Really Liked

We all need our cell phones charged at sometime and we don't always have access to an immediate power source. The lipstick variety were not for me but I did find a few really good alternatives.

These are especially good if you want full blast speed charging. I don't know about you but I am always in a hurry.

Tips To Make Your Cell Phone Battery Last Longer

Here are a few great tips on how to properly charge up your phone for longer life.

  • Increase the time between charges
  • Unless you really need it, turn the bluetooth function off as this eats battery power
  • Also turn the vibrate function off unless you have to have it
  • Talking on your cell phone uses more of your battery than anything else
  • Don't use animated pictures as your screen saver

It is true that many of today's smart phones come with a whole range of features. Great as these may be, they will all eat away at your battery, and that means it will drain a great deal quicker.
