Poems About Gadgets

Updated on September 15, 2014

Don't You Need the Latest Gadget? Answers in Poetry

For my poetry, I am inspired by the world around me. The animals, plants and vistas as well as everyday objects such as the GADGETS, widgets and devices that help us through our day.

By reading the original poems in this lens, I hope that you will discover or rediscover the world of gadgets in a unique and enlightening way, and have fun too.

I've also sprinkled a few gadget recommendations throughout!

Charging My Cell Phone

I'm quite forgetful on charging my cell phone

Would be bad if I break down on the highway alone

When I see that small accusing black screen

I am chastised; I've work ahead to be a gadget queen

Sneaky Uses for Everyday Things

My Computer Beckons

My computer beckons

Come to me, touch my keys

I press the buttons

The dark screen shows its blue square

My fingers fly thru my cryptic password

Ah my home screen; A second home

All the little icons are places where

I spend part of my life

Indeed time flies here

The clock was just showing 7 pm

And now it shows 8:30 pm

I swear I only meant to touch it quickly

And check email - 10 minutes max

But no

Once again it has sucked my precious time

I close the lid and walk away

Yet its small pulsing light

Still beckons

On Electronic Gadgets

Electronic gadgets for all the folks

Unchain us from our backward yokes

While mechanical gadgets in days of yore

Made our lives easier all the more

A Fun Use for Cell Phones

Just What I Need

Have you heard the latest?

That thing is just what I need

I must have the greatest

I need 10 times the speed

What I have is old tech

How have I lasted so long

I'm going crazy; I'm a wreck

This doesn't work; it's all wrong

I Like the New eReaders

I like the new eReaders

They're easy on the eyes

The Kindle may now be leader

But others may soon surprise

Powering a Hungry World - Generating the electricity needed for the gadgets

Power lines across wide expanses

Moving outward as civilization advances

Lighting and powering a hungry world

As the vast carpet of man is unfurled
