A good gaming mouse is your weapon for playing today's latest games. I've used pretty much every one out there and while most of them are accurate compared to a standard mouse, only a few of them add precision that truly makes them worthy of the name.

In this post I'll take you through of the most popular models of 2014 and give you a chance to vote on your favorites.

5 stars for Razer DeathAdder 2013

Best FPS Gaming Mouse

Razer DeathAdder 2013 Gaming Mouse

It's definitely the most popular, but is it the best? Featured in this picture is Razer's 2013 version which has improved ergonomic side grips - a detail which many had been waiting for. Other notable improvements include an upgraded infrared sensor, which gives you better precision and accuracy.

Laser Vs. Optical Sensors

When it comes to pure accuracy you should go with an optical sensor. This is because laser sensors have built in acceleration which often forces you to overshoot your opponent. With that in mind and with a new technologically sound sensor, the DeathAdder is the most accurate weapon for gaming right now.

Technical Specifications:

Braided Cable, 200 inches per second and 50g of acceleration, Ultraslick mouse feet, Gold-plated USB, 1ms response, 5 programmable buttons, and a 6400dpi 4G Optical Sensor.

Is there Room for Improvement?

Yes, next upgrade I'm hoping for on-board USB profile memory and weighted tuning.

Best Claw Grip Gaming Mouse

CM Storm Spawn

If you're looking for an accurate claw grip gaming mouse, then consider the CM Storm Spawn. This new mouse sports a super accurate optical mouse with an Avago ADNS-A3090 sensor and is sold at a very reasonable price of under $40.

If you're a true FPS fan, then buying a mouse like this and learning how to use a claw grip could give you a leg up on the competition in terms of reaction time and accuracy.

The Call of Duty Logitech G9X is often on sale for well below the retail price of a standard G9X.

Logitech G9X

One of my favorites because of the variation and gripping that I do based upon which game I play. I had heard that this particular mouse is no longer in production, and can confirm that this is true. If you have to have it, then stock up!

Saving Money With the Call of Duty Version:

For those of you interested in a G9X I recommend you save money and go with the Call of Duty Version of it. It's the same exact model at about half of the price.

Which Grip Should You Choose?

This depends completely upon your grip and in fact, may change based upon which genre you're currently playing. Claw grippers will prefer the slickness of the precision grip while palm grippers will most likely choose the satin-like wide grips.

The Logitech G600 is a new competitor with Razer's Naga MMORPG gaming mouse. With lots of buttons and a classy look, it's sure to find appeal with many gamers.

SteelSeries Sensei

SteelSeries knows how to put out a good product. The Sensei is accurate and works great if you're a claw gripper. That being said it's not quite as accurate as the CM Storm or Razer Abyssus, so if you buy this one, then you should know that ahead of time.

Mad Catz R.A.T. Series

Not for everyone, but those who want to be able to customize how a mouse feels in their hands will love it.

Best MMORPG Gaming Mouse to Use?

Razer Naga MMO Gaming Mouse

If you need programmable buttons for MMOs, then this mouse is for you. That being said in 2012 we saw a very strong new competitor in the Logitech G600.

If you'd rather not use a mouse with buttons, then consider something like the Razer Nostromo along with a basic mouse for MMO games.

Logitech G700

In my opinion, the G700 gives me the best palm grip out there. When I'm browsing and doing casual-level gaming it's what I like to use. The G700s has been released as of late, but costs significantly more at this time. If you're looking for a good budget option, then the G700 still may be the way to go.

Logitech G500

Less expensive than the G700 but almost as effective. It's hard to use any other mouse after you've gotten used to its free flowing scroll wheel. The weight tuning is good as well, but I find myself removing the cartridge altogether when I really have a long gaming session.

Logitech G400

It's a lot like the MX518 and is definitely my favorite for best gaming mouse Under $30. It has a really good optical sensor and is also available in the more recent S model. Personally, I like the look of the old mouse, but that may be more of a matter of personal preference.

The Zowie EC1 is sure to be a rival to Razer's Deathadder in the years to come. It's simplicity and accuracy is similar yet some may prefer the Zowie's look and feel overall.

Zowie EC Evo Optical Gaming Mouse

It's not as popular as the others on this list, but I decided to add this mouse because of it's popularity among gaming professionals. It's a lot like the DeathAdder in terms of accuracy, but has a few bells and whistles which it doesn't have.

Once and for all which one is the best gaming mouse?
