In July 2009, GM was bailed out of bankruptcy by the U.S. government which loaned the company a large amount of money. GM underwent a considerable amount of changes in its senior management in 2010 as the company attempted to come up with the winning formula for long term viability. They got rid of underperforming brands like Saturn and Hummer. What will the future bring? We shall see.
