Ford’s invention of the assembly line allowed cars to be produced quickly and cheaply. Ford’s Model T became the first car built for the masses. Cars became much more common. In the modern era, cars have become more of a necessity than a luxury for many people. They still remain, however, a status symbol for a lot of people. Automobile technology continues to evolve with cars becoming safer and cleaner for the environment.
