Not only are you looking away from the road, you are using your hands to text. Many states have passed laws limiting or prohibiting the use of cell phones for speaking and texting while driving. A number of states now include cell phone distraction as a category to be included on police reports when appropriate. The legislation and police are taking this issue very seriously. It would be a good idea for all of us to do the same.
