If you don’t know where it is located, look in the car manual or online. Typically a couple of screwdrivers are all you will need. The housing is usually held together with clips. Pry open the clips with a flat screwdriver. Hold up the filter, if you see mostly dirt, replace it. Needless to say all of this should be done with the car in a safe place and the engine off and cool. Depending on your skills you may want to try to tackle the other filters as well.
