How Things Work in Cars
The modern car is an amazing piece of machinery. The sheer number of systems that have tasks to perform is remarkable. We can start with the alternator and battery that provide the power to start the car. Then there is the internal combustion engine that burns gas to create energy and move the car. Don’t forget the cooling system. If the … Keep Reading → engine were not properly cooled it would self-destruct from the huge amounts of heat that it produces. Then there are the brakes, which use friction to slow down the tires and consequently, the vehicle itself. Thankfully there are also emission systems to help protect us and the environment form the pollutants that can be produced. Let’s not forget about all of the sensors placed throughout the car that warn us if any of these systems are having problems. And of course all of this is connected by a network of hoses and belts and wires that keep it functioning properly. Truly an amazing piece of machinery.
