Biodiesel fuels are plant or animal based products that have been engineered to be compatible with diesel fuel. They are typically mixed with diesel fuel. The benefits of biodiesel fuel are that it’s better for the environment and is a renewable resource. The challenges are that it’s more expensive than diesel and not as readily available.
