Most schools have an area surrounding the school that is protected by lower speed limits. There may be lower speed limits for specific road conditions or in case of bad weather. Going above the speed limit can result in tickets and fines. Licenses can be suspended or revoked for repeat offenders. Less commonly discussed are the minimum speeds that are required in some areas. You can actually get a ticket for going too slow in those areas.
