What could be better training on learning to write than studying the works of the people have already mastered the craft. It’s all but impossible to find a writer who has not been influenced by other writers to some degree. Read a lot of different authors that write in a lot of different formats. And pay attention when you read. Think about why you are reacting the way you are and how the author achieved that. It’s the best training available.
