One of the toughest decisions when deciding on a college to attend is choosing the location. Colleges are usually categorized in regions. The four primary regions are the Northeast, the West, the South, and the Midwest. If you absolutely hate the cold though, going to school in the Northeast or Midwest will most likely make you miserable. Consider what is most important to you. If you have to have warm weather then the South and West are for you. Many schools in the Northeast are older and have that more “traditional” feel. There is no right and wrong regarding which region to choose. One thing worth noting is that because schools like diverse student bodies it is sometimes easier to get accepted into a school farther away from your home. If reputation is the most important criteria for you, you might be able to get accepted into a better school that is far away.
