This right was confirmed two years later by the Supreme Court. There were a number of conflicts that took place in the following years. Among the most noteworthy were the many between the United Auto Workers union and many car manufacturers. Ultimately, labor was rewarded with higher wages, better benefits, and safer working conditions. Since then labor unions have formed in many industries to protect the rights of workers.
