That’s a pretty serious event. Most science fairs are much lighter events designed to motivate kids at individual schools to challenge themselves and get creative. There are two separate elements to doing well at a science fair. You need to come up with an interesting concept. It’s best to focus on things that interest you. What can you show that most people don’t understand, but would find interesting? The other element is that you have to be able to talk about your idea at the fair. Prepare some notes for yourself. Put a few bullet points on index cards. Don’t try to read them. Just keep them as a reminder of the points you want to mention.
