We have all seen the tragic results. There have been over one million deaths attributed to earthquakes in the last century. The vast majority of injuries and deaths occur as a result of buildings and other structures being destroyed. Earthquakes can also trigger other natural disasters such as avalanches, tsunamis, and volcanoes erupting. Volcanoes can be found in all areas of the world and in all types of geography; including underwater. There are over 500 volcanoes that are currently active.
