Temperature variations are limited with the weather almost always being warm. The Amazon rainforests which form most of the Amazon Basin in the northern part of the continent are well known for their diverse environments and are considered by many to be among the “modern wonders” of the world. The majority of the countries of South America speak either or both of Spanish and Portuguese. Much of the continent still relies on agriculture to sustain their economies. The economies of most South American countries are not prosperous, with many struggling.
