Examples include the work to protect the rainforests as well as many of the animals in Africa. The work of nature conservation though, extends well beyond these well-known cases. There are groups in China, for example, that are focusing on issues of pollution as well as the unnecessary use of animal parts to make products. Groups like The Nature Conservancy go all over the world and work to protect areas that they consider “ecologically important.” This often involves rallying people against local and national government efforts that are harming the natural resources.
