There have been so many events that had a significant impact on the world that it can be difficult to narrow it down to a few. In many respects the expansion of media outlets first in the form of newspapers, and later radio, television, and the internet has played a significant role in making people aware of significant events. There are many … Keep Reading → examples of this, but the “Facebook Revolution” that took place in Egypt and resulted in Hosni Mubarak being forced to leave stands as one of the more recent and most significant examples of the influence of modern media. Other events that dramatically changed the world include the Industrial Revolution, the Stock Market crash of 1929, the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the terrorist attacks of 9/11. These are all relatively recent in historical terms. We can go back throughout history and find others such as the development of systems of writing and language. The list is, of course, subjective. There are many other events that had a significant impact on the world.
