The history of Asia is among the oldest of all recorded history. Asia is by far the biggest continent; so the history of Asia must be looked at as the history of several distinct regions. Asian history includes the history of dramatically different cultures and religions. Such diverse countries as Russia, China, Japan, India, Israel, Iraq, and Iran, are located partially or entirely within the continent of Asia. The history of these countries alone represents some of the oldest and most significant events in the history of the world. Some of the most noteworthy religious and political history ever recorded has taken place in Asia.
