Most people agree that it is beneficial to have a well-rounded education. What is sometimes the subject of debate is exactly what a well-rounded education looks like. Any educated person, it was thought, should be armed with the knowledge of these areas. Over time some people have challenged the utility of some of these subject areas in the modern world. For most people today a well-rounded education refers to the classic Liberal Arts curriculum found in most colleges and universities. This is designed to offer students a little bit of everything; from math, to foreign language, english, history, and a bunch of other subject areas. Unless one is in a pre-professional program such as engineering or medicine, the curriculum will tend to be geared around the concept of a well-rounded Liberal Arts education.
