Law school provides a general education in the main areas of the law as well as the process of “thinking like a lawyer.” The majority of law schools in the United States employ the Socratic Method in which the professor keeps asking questions in an attempt to make the student justify his logic. After law school students are required to pass a bar examination to be certified to practice law. The education doesn’t stop there. Every state bar association will have continuing education requirements that lawyers are required to meet.
