Legal procedure is the set of rules and regulations that dictates how laws come to be and are enforced. Whenever there is a trial, whether it is a criminal or civil trial and no matter the specifics of the case there will be legal procedures that dictate what is to happen and in what it order it happens. Legal procedures extend to what is required to happen before there is a trial or in criminal cases, before there is even an arrest. An example of this is the “Miranda” rights that have to be read to someone when they are arrested. Legal procedures are put in place to protect the rights of individuals. The burden is put on the legal system to follow the rules to make sure personal rights are not violated.
