There are sub-specialties that each focus on a particular area. Examples include specialists for trees, flowers, fruits, and nuts. Some specialties of horticulture are even more targeted. The area of Oenology, which is the science of making wine, is one such example. Experts in horticulture work in many different industries. There are many who work for municipalities maintaining public locations such as parks. Others work as or with landscapers to create and maintain outdoor space for both residential and commercial clients. Still others are actively involved with growing food products to be sold or turned into other products. From the park that we walk through to the fruit that we eat, horticulture touches our lives in many ways.
