Marine Biology
It is sometimes hard to comprehend when we consider how vast the area of the planet is, but almost 70% of Earth is covered by the oceans. Within those oceans exists a separate world of structures and life forms that we are not able to see. The science of marine biology is the study of those life forms that live in the oceans. Some of them are … Keep Reading → familiar. We have seen many species of fish and the lobsters and crabs that make their way to the restaurants. The fish species that are commercially available represent just a fraction of a percent of the different life forms that exist in the oceans. Marine biologists study things such as the chemistry of the water, and the different kinds of life forms including fish, mammals, plants and microscopic organisms. They also study the habitats and environments in which these different organisms exist. It is a huge field of study that covers the majority of the planet.
