History of Math
The history of math goes back as far as the recorded history of man. It actually goes back further than that with prehistoric findings indicating that math was being used to solve problems many thousands of years ago. Even evidence of algebra and geometry dates back thousands of years. The formal structure of mathematics is believed to have … Keep Reading → started in the ancient time of the Greeks and the Romans. It is believed that the Chinese and other Asian countries also had some formal number systems at that time as well. Some of the earliest work in advanced mathematics was done in the areas of geometry and trigonometry. Euclid and Pythagoras are considered the pioneers in those two areas respectively. Algebra was to come later and is its development was pioneered by Greek and Arab cultures.
