However one describes philosophy it is undeniable that some of the greatest minds in the history of the world have attempted to provide answers to the questions it poses. From the various forms of religious philosophy to the work of Aristotle and Plato to Nietzsche and others the questions of what philosophy is and what it does have been asked since the beginning of time. By their very nature, the questions philosophy poses can never be fully answered. For many it is the search for the answers that is the true meaning of philosophy.
