The core of Buddhist philosophy is the practice of the “Four Noble Truths” which stresses the idea of viewing life and the world based on the reality of what really is and not what we would like it to be. The first noble truth is that life involves suffering; the second noble truth is that this suffering is a result of our desires; the third noble truth is that if we let our desire go our suffering will end; and the fourth noble truth provides the exact methods to end the suffering; these are known as the Noble Eightfold path and they focus on the core practices that Buddhism believes lead to enlightenment.
