Relativity

Though the notion of relativity was not a creation of Albert Einstein, the word has come to be most closely associated with the physicist. Einstein delivered his theory in two parts. The first was The Special Theory of Relativity, which was published in 1905. The second part was called The General Theory of Relativity and it was published in … Keep Reading → 1916. The Special Theory of Relativity was primarily concerned with demonstrating that objects at rest and in motion are relative. The General Theory of Relativity expands on many of the key principles of gravity put forth by Isaac Newton. The theory discusses what happens to particles as they accelerate. In explaining gravity Einstein concluded that objects still move in a straight line in space, but they appear as if they are accelerating because of the space-time curve. The General Theory of Relativity shows that time is relative to space and matter.
