The world of business has seen some remarkable creative minds as well. A look at the history of Steve Jobs and Apple Computer is a recent example of this. Psychologists who have studied the creative process feel that to the extent that it can be quantified, creativity is largely a product of the unconscious. Toward that end, the best practices in stimulating creative thought and behavior involve attempts to both limit conscious thought and activate the unconscious mind. This process involves thinking about the issue at hand and then “letting it go.” Stepping away from consciously thinking about a subject gives the unconscious a chance to process the information.
