They were highly influenced by previous traditions; as represented by their strong desire to behave in different ways from previous generations. There are other cultures, many of whom still exist today, that base their entire way of life on the customs and traditions passed down. This can be seen in many tribal nations as well as religious based societies such as those found in the Middle East. Even in the United States you can find cultures such as the Amish and Hasidic Jewish community that live their lives almost entirely based on customs and traditions.
