We live in a society where people admire and sometimes worship famous people. In some cases a person becomes so well-known that their name achieves almost mythological status. His work in creating and then re-creating Apple Computer is legendary. Iconic figures in show business are people who are so recognizable and memorable that the mention of their name requires no further description. Examples include Elvis Presley, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, and Frank Sinatra. It’s difficult to find people of any age who have never heard these names. Science has certainly produced its own iconic figures. Albert Einstein comes to mind as a name that needs no further explanation. Later figures such as Steven Hawking may be considered as well. Icons come from all areas, but the one thing they have in common is the legend of their reputation.
