Television brought comedy into peoples living rooms for the first time. Milton Berle and Sid Caesar were among the first stars of the medium. Soon came legends such as Abbott and Costello and later Jackie Gleason and the Honeymooners. Movies were still making people laugh as well. Some Like it Hot and Dr. Strangelove are among the classic movie comedies. For many others classic comedy is seen in shows such as Seinfeld and movies such as My Cousin Vinny. The definition of what is classic comedy may depend on the viewer, but funny is funny.
