Comedians
Some comedians work in front of an audience and some work in front of a camera. What they all have in common is that they make us laugh. Some of the early comedians were Charlie Chaplin and the Marx Brothers. For people in the early 20th century they were the definition of comedy. Later years brought such funny people as Bob Hope, Jack Benny, … Keep Reading → and later Milton Berle and Sid Caesar. With the new popularity of television many of these comedians were becoming familiar faces. Things got sillier when the comedy team of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis brought their antics to stage and screen. Television continued to be a popular destination for funny people throughout the 20th century and beyond. Shows ranging from The Honeymooners to Seinfeld and many others have made people laugh for years. Innovative talents such as Robin Williams and Jim Carey have continued the tradition of making people laugh.
