Winning an award can make the difference between success and failure for both movies and actors. The prestige that the award carries can propel careers forward. The award is given out in many categories including numerous behind the scenes categories that don’t even make the telecast. People are interested in seeing the stars they are familiar with. The award show gives them what they want. There are other award shows as well. The People’s Choice and The Golden Globes are among the more popular. Still, no other award holds the prestige of the “Oscar.”
