Biographical and Historical Films
There is nothing wrong with a little education with our films. Some of the best of the biographical and historical films have kept us entertained while offering a history lesson in the process. A few of them may take liberties with the facts but the point is after all to entertain us. Some classics of the genre include All the Presidents Men … Keep Reading → and Lawrence of Arabia. All the Presidents Men is the story of how Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein broke the story of the Watergate scandal during the Nixon administration. It was a riveting movie that addressed a very recent historical event. Lawrence of Arabia is one of the great epic films that tells the story of T.E. Lawrence and his journey across the Arabian Desert. It’s on any short list of can’t miss films. Another classic film of the genre is Schindler’s List, which is the biographical account of the work of Oskar Schindler to save Jews from the Nazi’s during WWII. There are other films of course, but these are some of the best.
