We remember the songs not only as great songs, but in the context of the show that they appear in. This makes the music more impactful and lasting. Classic shows such as West Side Story, A Chorus Line, and Annie have left us with great songs and great memories as well. More recent shows such as The Producers and Wicked have continued the tradition. Many of the best Broadway musicals have been made into films, which gives us another opportunity to enjoy the music.
