Before long large numbers of teenagers from different neighborhoods were getting together to form dance groups that competed against other groups. These “crews” of breakdancing and other new forms of dance were using the constructive activity of dancing to have healthy competitions with other neighborhoods. When the new street style of dance found its way into clubs and eventually videos and television, the trend spread across the nation.
