The ability to receive digital quality broadcasts of stations that can be heard from anywhere in the country has revolutionized radio. HD radio offers better quality as well, but it has not fared well when competing with satellite radio. An intriguing option for the future is internet radio which broadcasts radio stations through our computers. This technology allows for extensive customization. Entire stations can be created based on user preferences. The technology and business model for internet radio are still works in progress, but the product is intriguing.
