As recently as 30 years ago few people gave coffee a lot of thought. That’s not to say that coffee wasn’t popular. It was very popular with many millions of people all over the world drinking their morning cup. It is not unusual for people to have both coffee makers and espresso machines in their kitchens at home. Some of the newer pod based coffee machines allow us to make one cup at a time. When we go out for a cup of coffee we are presented with a dizzying array of choices for beverages. Many coffee beverages have so many added flavors and sweeteners they are like candy or desserts. This is one of the reasons for the popularity of coffee with college and even high school students. Starbucks may have closed a few stores but they, and the coffee craze, are still going strong.
